Liquid Vitamins for the Win!

Vitamin and mineral supplements come in many forms, including liquids, capsules, and powders. There is much debate about which is best, and ultimately the answer depends on the vitamin in question and what you need it for (quick energy boost? long-lasting physical healing of a specific ailment?) In this blog we’re going to focus on the benefits of liquid vitamins, which are becoming more and more popular as nutrient absorption technologies expand.

The primary benefit of liquid vitamins is that they are absorbed into the body quicker than the pill and powder counterparts. While our bodies are made up mainly of fluids, this makes some intuitive sense. The research shows that liquid vitamins are absorbed more quickly into the system, but we’d like to distinguish that they aren’t necessarily absorbed better than the solid forms. There are many pill and powder supplements that are designed to be easily digested and absorbed, with minimal disruption to the digestive system. One downside of liquid multivitamins is that they’re not easily transportable, so taking your liquid nutrients needs to be a part of your practice that you remember to do at home, with breakfast, for example.

Our Nutristart vitamin line of products includes all varieties mentioned above: pills, powders and of course liquids. We’ve formulated each supplement with the highest quality ingredients and with the intention for the best absorption possible. Below we’ve listed our liquid line of products. Notice that each is titled “quick” to highlight the fast absorption rates.

  • Quick D consists of liquid D3 drops that support immune, bone and joint health. Vitamin D has become known as the “sunshine vitamin” in Canada’s long dark winters. Vitamin D deficiency is one of the most prevalent nutrient deficiencies for people living outside of the tropics. With this necessity in mind, we developed Quick D using the most bio-available source of vitamin D, cholecalciferol or D3, in its most absorbable form: emulsified liquid. To enjoy extraordinary health, feed your body with the sunshine vitamin – Quick D. We often tell people that if you take only one supplement, this should be it.
  • Quick K2 is the preferred MK7 form of K2. K2 has a lengthy list of health benefits, including promoting bone, teeth, and cardiovascular health, and decreasing the risk of cancer. The recommended amount of MK7 is about 120mcg for maintenance and twice that much for therapeutic use. The recommended dosage is .5ml, which is about 20 drops in our 60 serving bottle.
  • Quick B12 is a sublingual liquid vitamin, also called “the energy vitamin.” Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient that has an important impact on your immune system, nervous system, and red blood cell formation. Vitamin B12 deficiency is one of the most common nutritional deficiencies, which is why it’s pivotal to get this nutrient absorbed as efficiently as possible into your body. Vitamin B12 requires intrinsic factor, a glycoprotein produced by the cells of the stomach, to absorb. There’s a tendency towards mal-absorption, so doctors will often use injections to provide patients with a guaranteed amount of B12. The best way to bypass the need for intrinsic factor is to take the supplement sublingually (under the tongue), which allows it to enter the bloodstream through the mucous membranes. This is less painful than an injection and just as effective.

There you have it, some of the benefits of liquid vitamins and some types of vitamins in which liquid is an effective and efficient absorption form.
